Rune magick is the usage of runes with the intent of invoking changes.

Mostly practical changes, improve life, fix problems, achieve desires, but also magical work can be done, to develop clairvoyance and so on. 

First, certain runes are selected, based on the intention.

Then runes are carved onto a piece of wood, stone, bone, metal or just a piece of paper. 

Here is an example amulet with 3 Fehu runes. Fehu is related to wealth, so such an amulet will bring wealth to the person that wears such an amulet.

Single runes can be used, several runes, rune formulas, bind runes and rune staves.

Different types of runic constructs

Bindrunes

Bind runes are the next step after formulas and consist of runes drawn one over another to form a unique shape.

Vertical Bindrunes

Vertical bindrunes is another way to write the runes. This form includes a vertical line and all runes are drawn on it.

Staves

Runic staves is one of the most popular forms of runic magick and includes completely creative arrangement of the runes and can have endless variations. Often the placing of the runes follows some logic that relates to the intent of the stave.

Aegishjalms

The earliest source of this kind of symbol dates back to around the year 1600 in an Icelandic book called Galdrabók (Book of Magic). 

This form of magick often consists of the rune Algiz or a similar shape, positioned in a circular motion, often with 8 rays. This 8-pointed shape is present in many systems and traditions including sumerian and is a powerful magical concept.

Other graphical magick constructs

There are various other kinds of graphical magick constructs and some of them even contain non-rune symbols or even not contain runes at all, and all these symbols can be used in magick to our advantage.
