Study › Magick › Why are runes so powerful?
The power of runes comes from a simple, complete system, and from you. Three things decide how strong it is, and each can be trained.
Why runes are powerful
Because rune magick is a simple, complete system, and because the power in it is yours. Three things decide how strong it is, and each can be trained.
Your knowledge of the runes
Your knowledge of the runes. Your understanding of each one, deepened by passing through the runic circle again and again until the runes become a language you think in.
Your energy
The power of your energy. The runes run on it, which is why practising magicians do energy work daily. They also watch carefully where they spend that energy, and what energy and information they take in: junk content, horror, fear-based social media and mindless scrolling destroy personal power.
Your attention
Your control of your attention. Energy follows attention, so focusing exercises — meditating on a single object, for instance — belong in your daily practice.
