To understand how rune magick works we first need to understand how our attention and energy work. 

There is a popular saying that goes like this: 

Where attention goes energy flows

It means where you focus your attention, towards that your energy is directed. 

So you direct your energy with your attention. 

Runes work on energy

The energy directed towards a rune formula makes the runes work. 

This is really simple. Let’s say you have a rune formula written on a piece of paper in front of you.

You look at it and the runes are becoming alive because of your attention. 

So while you are looking at the rune formula it is working.

When you stop looking, it is not working. 

With your attention you tune in on the vibration of the runes

Think of a radio, there are different radio channels with different genres of music.

When you tune to some radio channel, the music is playing and depending on the genre of the music, your mood is affected. 

Fast energetic music energizes you and makes you more active.

Slow relaxing music makes you calmer and can even make you fall asleep. 

Runes work similarly, when you look at a rune formula, the qualities of the runes and the intention behind the rune formula is affecting you. 

When you activate the rune formula with a ritual, you implant the runes into your subconsciousness and you can remain on this “radio” channel for weeks and months, for as long as needed for you.
